Chevy c6500 cat diesel

Chevy c6500 cat diesel

Chevy c6500 cat diesel in need of engine removal, front axle removed.

i bought a '75 gm 6 bbl carb chevy c6500 cat diesel a week or so ago and i have some more information to add but first a bit of background, it was on here a few years ago when i had the parts i needed and i put it together, but after a few months i stopped and the only reason i still have it is i think i need more carbs or i want to be able to modify it better with the rest of the parts i have. i bought it from a guy in florida that had rebuilt it with a couple other parts and i paid him a little more for it then the parts are worth.

anyway, i can only imagine he didn't finish it, i know my buddy does a lot of projects and i've seen a lot of the parts he has but he always says he'll finish them but never does, not sure if he knows or cares about a forum. i never saw any posts where he had it and would be interested in seeing it done.

Kevin, you may want to take a look at this C65. I'm not sure if this is exactly the project you were looking for, but it is a pretty straight-forward build with a lot of great mods.

Thank you for sharing the pictures. It looks like you have a very interesting car there.

i was thinking something more simple and not a big project but i do want to be able to mod it with what i have and i really don't have much time to devote to it as i don't know what it costs and i live in a small town where the only guy that does projects has so much stuff he doesn't need anymore that he's not even interested in doing the mods for the projects he has already started. i have seen a few that were really nice but i really just want to have a nice daily.

i've found it on here but it is really just to many details and the guy that started it went back to the 80's so i've never seen it done so i didn't know what it should look like and it is one of the few times that i'm not going to have a friend i know that can do it for me so i'm going to have to do it myself. it does look very interesting though.

You can probably get a better deal and quicker from the guy you bought it from, if he still has it, he should want to sell it to you. If he doesn't have it, you might be able to get a better deal at a shop if you have someone who can get him to work with you.

Kevin,

There are quite a few posts in this section of the forum about rebuilds of the C65. The project you're talking about was actually started by another member here:

The guy that started it has some parts left over, so if he'd like to keep it running for future projects he could probably use it, but he's going to build it up to be more modern first.

If you'd like to join us in the rebuilds section you can PM me and I'll give you access.

The project you were looking at may not have been a rebuild though. It's an excellent project to have on the shelf, but it will be very limited for what you can do to it, and it might take a while to get done.

There's also quite a few C65s in the classifieds here. You may want to post a wanted ad if you want to see what's available.

I think what you're looking for is more of a 'custom' build.

I can't think of many options for a car like this though... If you had a friend who has a C70 or a similar, that might be a more viable option.

I was actually trying to look for parts to convert it to a C70 but i'm not sure i would enjoy that type of car as much as this one. my buddy told me he wants to convert it to a c70 too and i said i wouldn't like that because i don't know if i'd like that as much as this one.

I'll post it up in the rebuilds section and let you know if there are any others in that area who have something similar.

Kevin, it's very possible that you'll find a good deal on a C70 for parts alone. I think the C65 is a little more'special' in that it uses an inline 6 and only has a 4-speed transmission.

Thanks for the replies. It's nice to have someone to talk to who is also into this kind of thing. I appreciate the suggestions.
